Smile Train gives me an opportunity to help kids in third-world countries who have a cleft lip or palate. It funds surgeries to help kids smile and feel good about themselves.
When I was younger, I organized a craft fair called “children helping children.” With sales and donations, we raised over $1000, helping four children receive surgery! I enjoyed hosting the first craft fair so much that
I wanted to do more, so I hosted two more craft fairs the following years, raising another $1000 each.
This meant we were able to help eight more children! I like contributing to the Smile Train because I know 100% of donations go directly to help a child. Smile Train allows me to help other kids and make an impact around the world. One thing that is cool about the Smile Train is that after your money is used to help someone, they send a before and after picture of the child. It’s great to see their beautiful smiles and feel like you’ve really made a difference in someone’s life.
Smile train informed me that I am one of their most dedicated student supporters. They have asked me to write a short paragraph to be featured on their new school fundraising site. Keep an eye out for my story at www.smiletrain.org/students.
If you would like to make a donation in my honor and help me reach my goal, please make a check to Smile Train (put ‘Logan Schwartz’ on the memo line) and mail your contribution to the following address so we can track my progress. Thank you!
